Liberty Bell Chalet in Hurley

Been going to this restaurant since childhood. Ordered Cesar Salad and large double sausage pizza. Salad was very big but dressing was very bland...not like the old days. They gave us a medium pizza instead of a large and there is no way it was double sausage. Also not satisfied with the customer service. It was not a welcoming environment. The owners and staff need customer service training.

Great atmosphere and service

Great staff! Courteous, accommodating, and attentive. Food is big portions and delicious! Yummy Italian cuisine.

The staff is very nice. The atmosphere is cute. However, the lights are so dim that the menu is hard to read. Also, our food was cold. The server heated it up though and then it was delicious.

Wonderful experience. Miranda was a very super nice waitress. You should ask for her service. Italian food rocked!

Dinner was great. Ordered a pizza with the drinks and it came out earlier than our meal which kept the kids happy and eating. It was busy on a Thursday night but the 20 minutes wait went quick.

This was an amazing find for us. The veggie pizza was incredible.The pizza was sliced into one inch squares. Perfect sauce , cheese andveggies on each yummy mouth size slice. The staff was warm and welcoming.. People at other tables said hello as we sat down. I laughed at the latest comment about "flirting". I think everyone knows everyoneand the staff just spreads midwest hospitality. I wished i lived there.

Good food and decent service.a little disappointed in the renowned salad as they have reduced the meat cheese and even the amount of dressing on the salad I wish they would have raised the price as opposed to reducing the quality as this was always the best part of the dinner. I will be back but kind of nothing really special .but consistent good food..please fix the salad!!!!

The best food, and great service.

My family has been coming to the Bell for years! We were so happy to hear they were able to keep it open by moving to a new location. We get the pizza and Cesar salad for two and it was still as great as always! We come from out of town (3 hrs away) and would love if it had afternoon hours (at least just one day per week). We aren’t able to make it as frequently with the strict evening hour times.

Awesome food. Their homemade pasta and meatballs were great. Also, very friendly staff and quick service.

Booked for NYE dinner at 8pm. They were out of several menu items but we were only informed after we ordered, so we reordered only to have the server return to inform us they were out of those items as well. Almost walked out with the group after 2 rounds of reordering even though we already started soups and salads. In prior years we dined at Liberty Bell for NYE dinner and had very good experiences... Pretty unfortunate that this experience has firmly removed Liberty Bell from our list of preferred dining establishments in the area.

Nice little place. Very good pizza, homemade pastas and the best caesar salad I've ever had. I go back specifically for the bell caesar salad which I can't say enough good things about. Highly recommend.

The family Caesar Salad for two is still excellent- I crave it. Pizza is also great but I’ve never gotten any farther than that on the menu in 30-some years! I’m glad they’ve kept the place going, I had a panic attack when I heard the original location was closing.

I had a fabulous time at the Bell Chalet. The food is pretty good, but the service was even better. There was a redhead with an eyebrow piercing who was an excellent waitress. She was friendly, and extremely helpful. I highly suggest her. Thank you for your awesome service!

Fabulous italian food served with pride for over 50 years. Best pizza invthe north woods. People visit just for ceasar salad. Ice cold beer. Right on Hwy 51 accessible by 4 wheeler and snowmobile too.

We ate there years ago and it was awesome. Had dreams about it for years. Finally made it back. Nice new building. Staff friendly. Extremely dissatisfied with the food. Salad for two use to have Wisconsin cheese it it. Now mozzarella and very flat tasting. Pizza crust is different and not as good. Will not be back. Why change outstanding past recipes?

We go all the way up to the Bell from Lake Tom for their pizza. It was awesome as usual.

Much smaller setting than the Bell we grew up with! But same DELICIOUS pizza and salad!!! Thank God!! Thank you Bell Chalet! Just one piece of advice...get BIGGER sign.....we past you and had to turn around..

I’ve eaten pizza all over the country and there is no pizza better than this. Scratch made ingredients and an amazing crust! Top it with the works and you won’t be disappointed!!!

We ate here several years ago and had to hunt for it because they moved but it's the same great food and friendly atmosphere. Some of the best salmon I've ever had!

We used to love the Bell when it was in Hurley. We’ve even driven from Mpls just to have a meal and drinks, only to turn around and go back home. The “New Bell” looked nice but the food was definitely of lower quality. My burger was burnt even though I ordered medium and my wife’s green noodles were undercooked. Sorry Bell, but you’ve got some work to do.

Celebrated a birthday with family. Good drinks and good food. Staff was top notch.

Seriously excellent. Fresh homemade everything. Noodles bread desserts. Very friendly staff. Food came out in good timing. Not too fast but quickly as it was slow while I was there.

Lovely place - newly remodeled & great pizza

I've been going to this restaurant since I was a little girl. The prices are steep for the area which I know for a fact deters many from eating there but regulars are not bothered by this. Portion sizes are huge, the food is wonderful, and the atmosphere is inviting. The staff is usually very nice and of course, the salad and that amazing dressing is a thing I crave and go for as soon as I hit town. Maybe some more creative specials on favorites (I don't think I've ever seen gnocchi on special) and free refills would entice some. Still, I love the bell!

I have been going here since I was very young. My family moved away 30+ years ago but whenever we go back to visit we never miss the chance to enjoy the Bell. They have the BEST sausage pizza and Caesar salad you will ever have! The restaurant is friendly and inviting. It is always busy so best suggestion is to plan to go at 4p when they open or later in the evening. They also have a fresh market so you can take the goodies home as well!

Best Pizza in the UP!

We think the pizza here is very special ...simple and flavorful ...from clean air and water come great taste...try the Verde...it’s unique to the bell...great ski hang out in winter.

Excellent Food, great atmosphere and awesome owner! We came up for our annual snowmobiling trip and we were so happy with the food, drinks, atmosphere and the owner, she is a sweet heart! Thanks again!
